I traded a Hohner 335 copy for this guitar today. It's a butterscotch transparent finish with AlNiCo V pickups and the PTB control layout. That layout has the single volume like a strat but the first tone controls High frequencies and the rear the lower end. This makes for some interesting tones with the traditional 5 way switch. The neck is maple with a maple cap fingerboard and the body is a two piece ash. It's hefty compared to my 1988 Strat Plus. The pickguard is m-o-toiletseat....

Well, I now own not 1 but 3 Rickenbackers.

1... A 1994 Ric 330-6 in FireGlo
2... A 1996 Ric 360-6 in MapleGlo
3... A 2008 Ric 360-6 In MapleGlo

And they are still the only guitar that you can play the start chord to Hard Days Night on and it sounds right.

Did Rickenbacker ever make any Valve amps of note?

Me and a buddy of mine want to build an EB-1 copy. Anybody know where we can get some measurements on the body, neck etc. so we can get the pattern right the first time? We're doing the late 60's reissue and I seem to recall they had an arch top, anybody know for sure?

I was wondering how bad a BluesBoy does the 60hz HuM song when both pickups are on. Is it as loud as when just the bridge pup is on ? Does it bother you ? So many folks say that,that is their FAVORITE position ! Sometimes the beer signs at the clubs are a problem. I'm jonesin' for a BluesBoy. Help me out please. JJ

Treble Loss

Most of my guitars have the G&L P-90 type single coils.
When you turn the volume down on the guitar they retain the trebles pretty well.
I just built a little tele with "normal" type single coils and when you turn it down even a little it sounds muffled.
I took a peek at a pickguard out of a strat that I used to have and there is a tiny cap and resistor in parallel between 2 of the volume pot lugs.
I stuck them on the tele pot and now the trebles don't go...

I am so pissed !
I finally got my project Tele workin' great and the 1/4" switchcraft input stopped grabbin' the guitar cable like it should.
I put a new one on and now I have a loud hum whenever I touch anything metal on the guitar.
I thought that one of the grounds came off but they appear to be fine.
It's unplayable like this.
Very loud hum when you touch anything.
One ground goes from the neck pup to the back of the volume pot and another...

I found a deal. A 12 string acoustic w/ hardshell case for $150. It's a seagull Cedar S12+. Solid top and seagull light laquer finish. it's as boisterous as the last 12 i owned ( a takamine 12 I gave to someone). It's hardly got a scratch on it. Sure it could use new strings but considering the price I've seen these new on the net($459) I'm pleased with the find and outcome. I'll get strings soon and clean the fingerboard up at that point. hardly played from what I can...

Acoustic Strings

Hey Ya'll

Quick question.

My GF just got an Epiphone acoustic from one of her co-workers for next to nothing(60).

I picked it up and ....you know...it feels just right...sounds just right. and projects like a MOFO.

Still has original strings and I'm not so familiar with acoustic strings.

I'd like to know what strings to get.

Dam, I been wantin a Batwing headstock Epi for a long time, Maybe a Dwight, but what i wanna know is how in the hell anybody can justifie 2500 for a guitar that cost 200 buck's new, what happened to make these go up in price, who the hell played one beside's Del Shannon, and he were'nt no guitar Hero, maybe a hero for a old Fart like me, but what the Sam Hell give's on these Turkey's ?

I bought a new (to me) guitar this week. It's a Joe Pass hollowbody. I had one in college and in my stupidity/youth I sold it without really thinking about it. I've missed it ever since. Well, I was browsing Ebay and found one new with a hardshell case for under 4 clams with shipping. That's a hundred less than I paid for my first one. Now I'm just waiting on it's arrival.

I've got 4 Fenders here, and they all have WHITE pickguards. So for the sake of variety, I put a black pickguard on the AS Tele. I like black over sunburst, and thought this looks a lot better -
