			<description><![CDATA[ What a nice piece of amp. Two 6V6s with a SS recto and two 12AX7s. The verb is deep and lush, the two channels are very different in a good way and the 1x12
makes this puppy a giggable amp. It&#39;s loud enough at 2 that 4 brings out the clipped Fender sound (think Junior Brown&#39;s Hung Up) on the clean channel.
The Dirty has enough gain for my tastes (Cheap Sunglasses, I&#39;m Bad I&#39;m Nationwide) and both channels have boosts that take them over the top. I
don&#39;t see myself using... ]]></description>

just worked on a SF Champ the bass player owns and was returning it to him. One of our guitarists asks if I think the Champ would serve him for the evening. [
His regular amp we keep in the band trailer is a 135 watt SF Twin Reverb ] I told him I&#39;d hang a mic and feed him some through his monitor wedge if he had

			<description><![CDATA[ I&#39;ve accumulated most of the parts to build the Tweed Princeton/Champ Amp.I scavanged a chassie from that Hammond tone cab and it fits just right to make a
top knobber style amp,and its got a good black wrinkel finish on it.I also got a bunch of good cloth wire from the organ thats in fine shape(nice to work with)

Are these primarily the same kit?.. <br><br>I have never built an amp before but the Marsh kit says it has step by step instructions unlike the Weber.. The Weber also states it uses 120V power transformers in its kits which being from the UK i presume would need 240V?.. Is the power transformer the only thing i need to change or do i need to change output transformer also?... ]]></description>

I do like the overall performance and sound of the combo amp, but I think prefer a slightly different tone profile.  Maybe something in an Alnico?  My question has to do with pairing the wattage of the speaker with the amp.  The amp is a 40 watt--or so they say. I brought it home to check it out, but haven't cracked it open yet. <br><br>It is an open back, 1x12 combo with a 5Y3 and one 6V6. I will be going through it an doing a cap job, along with putting 3 conductor power cord. I don't want to hack the amp and am thinking this would not be a good bass practice amp if restored to stock.
