Our band needs some recordings to use for a promo package, so Wednesday night I'm going to give my new little gizmo a try. It's a $40 Sony Walkman MP3
Player, which also records. So we'll slap a bunch of mics on everything and plug that little sucker in the board and hit record.

I'm curious as to how it'll sound. Probably far from professional, but if it's good enough for a club owner's ears then it's good for me.

Unfortunately, the MR-8's manual has only a brief chapter on MIDI that might as well be written in Greek for the MIDI-clueless like me, and the DR-670 didn't come with a manual (my e-bay oversight).
