I am running KT66's in a Low Powered Tweed Twin and in a Tweed Pro.
I am aware that they draw more heater current and they require a rebias but is there anything else I should do to safely run them ? They sound great ! JJ |

It's a legit substitution. If it's a cathode biased job, the data sheets emphasize that the tubes have their own cathode resistor.
Other stuff I've read claims that some KT66's don't like the 220K bias resistor that Fender typically uses in their amps at the output tube grids. The tubes will turn red if they don't like that high a value.

On the cathode bias amp the tubes are runnin' 390v,46ma and sound very nice.
On the fixed bias amp 400v,42ma and a sweet,warm sound. JJ |
