have had so many issues with this amp. dont get me wrong i LOVE the sound of this amp but i have just had soo many problems with volume and sh!t just not
working. i first bought one a couple of years ago and i fell in love with the sound. but i started having a problem with the volume swelling every time i
switched chanels. it would work fine if the reverb was on but if it was off any channel that i would switch to the volume would swell from real quite to normal
volume. i took it in to the store i had purchased it from and they couldnt find anything wrong with it. they ended up sending it back to mesa to look at it.
well i get it back and f% sparks shoot out of it. and nothing happens. after that i was pretty pissed. the store talked with mesa and sent me a brand spankin
new roadster so i would hopefully never have any problem again. well i havent had any problems with this amp. ive played quite a few shows the past couple of
months and its worked beautifuly. we even had a show last friday and it worked fine. ive been so gentle with it just so i wouldnt f% nething up. well
yesterday at practice i turn it on. ive got barely any sound. turn up the volume all the way and it sounds like my f% practice amp. on all 4 channels. its
like i have no gain at all. does any one else have this problem or know what it may be?

Not a fan of MBs personally, but it sounds like you've got another lemon. I'd have it right back to the dealer and demand a refund.

Maybe it's like a TSL100-defective from the start (bad design), like a lot of other PCB stuff these days.
Ninty-nine percent of failures come from people who have the habit of making excuses.

If it's under warranty, I agree, replace, refund, exchange, any of the above.

So what's the general concensus on Mesa amps these days? Are they of decent quality? Is this an isolated case or are there issues on a regular basis?
I've actually been somewhat interested in possibly buying exactly this amp, the Dual Rectifier Roadster. I tried one in the store a few months ago and it
has quite the wide variety of tones from vintage Fender to vintage VOX to older Marshall and also the more modern metal/grunge tones but if its going to break
all the time I'm not interested.

The last Mesa I worked on was an Express 5:50 combo, which was only in for output tubes ( which had been shaken into a microphonic state - and the replacements
had to be very carefully selected, since it seems very sensitive in that regard ), but I wasn't impressed with the components or build quality. It is
advertised as a 50 watt amp, but the output transformer was Princeton Reverb sized.
That being said, the owner [ a seasoned blues player ] claims it's "the sound he's been looking for all his life", and it did sound quite good using his guitar and his hands the night I returned the amp to him at a gig.

I recently repaired a Maverick 2x12 combo. I found the knobs very hard to get at, they are tucked in under the top lip of the cab, and impossible to see when
you're standing up. The chassis was a poor fit into the cab, 3/16" gaps either side. The tolex had gaps at the corners. The amp sounded OK, but
nothing special, especially for the price.
